Application of lithium batteries
Lithium batteries are an increasingly widely used energy storage and conversion device, because their excellent electrochemical performance realizes a market application scenario that keeps pace with the times, from small to medium to large. When we talk about the correct use of lithium batteries, we usually refer to small applications, that is, consumer electronics, such as smart phones and laptops. Because large and medium-sized applications are based on small application technologies, small applications have common characteristics, while large and medium-sized applications are much more complex.
Usually, medium-sized applications are on new energy vehicles, which we generally call power batteries; large applications are usually on base stations, which we generally call energy storage batteries. So when we talk about "how to use lithium batteries", it is in line with people's habitual understanding to limit lithium batteries to small applications.
Working principle of lithium batteries
The working principle of lithium batteries is nothing more than charging to store energy, discharging to convert other energy and release it, and being idle when neither charging nor discharging. Therefore, the correct use of lithium batteries has three major aspects: correct charging, correct discharging, and correct maintenance.
Correct charging method of lithium batteries
Charge when it is charged. Under normal circumstances, when the power is too low, mobile phones and laptops will have reminders. At this time, you need to recharge in time. Although low power will not cause direct safety accidents, excessive use will damage the battery structure over time.
Just charge it fully. The internal structure of lithium battery cells is also composed of many components. New batteries are fine. If they are used for a long time, the function of some components may decline, so there will be overcharge safety risks.
Correct discharge method of lithium battery
First of all, we need to understand that the memory effect of lithium battery can be ignored, and there is no saying that deep discharge eliminates the memory effect. In theory, the total cycle life of lithium battery deep discharge will be greater, but the risk is that excessive discharge of the battery will cause the battery voltage to be too low and cannot be charged normally. Sometimes it will take a long time to start up, or even not start up. So prevent excessive discharge and charge in time.
Correct maintenance of lithium battery
The suitable environment for daily maintenance of lithium battery should be four words: ventilation and cool. Whether the lithium battery is idle independently or in standby in electrical appliances, these four words should be followed.
